Louis Vuitton × Timberland

For the Louis Vuitton × Timberland collaboration, Studio Romain Lenancker asked IANS to compose the music for a contemplative product film, where slow, almost spatial camera movements glide over the shoe.

The brief pointed towards electronic textures, with 2001: A Space Odyssey and Dune as references. IANS answered with an enigmatic score built around a loss of spatial bearings: layers of synth pads and drones, muted and hushed at first, that gradually open up into something shimmering, luminous and solar.

The spirit of 2001 runs through the piece, not as a wink or a pastiche, but as a starting point for a 2024 reinterpretation. Moments of saturation push against clean, precise notes, giving the film its tension and its sense of scale.

IANS handled the full musical process, from direction and composition to production.
